Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (DS, iOS, Android)
Coming in at around 25 hours, this game is pretty amazing. The art style is very reminiscent of Akira Toriyama's work, which allows me to experience a game that I normally don't have: imagining the game as if they were an anime. The characters are all memorable and likable, even if you don't like them at first. The coming of age story really hits you hard at some points in the story, as well as some moments that are pretty much unforgettable. Music is nice and slow when it needs to be, and loud and bombastic when the intensity is arising. I'm currently playing this game on my iPad, so while I'm not too fond of touch controls, this game hands the controls rather well, though it does have a few issues here and there. This is my second mainline Dragon Quest game I've played, but so far it's amazing. Go check it out on the App Store or Google Play, or you can get it on the DS. |
